The God is day, the Goddess night.
Above her earth, he is the sky.
Beyond her darkness, he is light.
Where she is deep, he must be high.
He is the lightening and the sun.
In sacrifice his power lies,
And in the antlered stags that run
The glory lives of all that dies.
Male to her female, he is drawn;
Projecting all that she receives.
With secret smile he looks on,
A hidden face in forest leaves.
Above her earth, he is the sky.
Beyond her darkness, he is light.
Where she is deep, he must be high.
He is the lightening and the sun.
In sacrifice his power lies,
And in the antlered stags that run
The glory lives of all that dies.
Male to her female, he is drawn;
Projecting all that she receives.
With secret smile he looks on,
A hidden face in forest leaves.
